Role overview
ALICE Technologies is the world’s first artificial intelligence platform that understands construction. ALICE empowers the world's pre-eminent construction teams with the ability to explore millions of different construction plans and answer “what if” scenarios on the fly. With ALICE, contractors and owners can plan, bid, and build more effectively, reducing construction durations by an average of 16.2% and labor costs by 14.7% (e.g., $30M in labor-cost savings on a typical $500M project).
Requirements:
- BS, MS, PhD in computer science/related field or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of software architecture experience
- 2+ years of web environment experience and familiar with ubiquitous Internet protocols like (HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP)
- Strong ability to communicate system design both structurally and temporally using UML
- Strong ability to model information and data
- Ability to apply architectural knowledge to real, hands-on work
- Strong knowledge of hygienic object oriented programming or functional programming
- Experience with complexity analysis and management
- Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases
- Growth-oriented mindset, willingness to learn
Differentiators:
- Scala and/or JavaScript (Node & Browser) experience.
- Experience with functional programming languages such as Purescript, Scala, Haskell, Functional Javascript, F#, Elixir, Clojure, etc…
- Industrial experience with the application of advanced Computer Science concepts, such as programming language theory, algorithm design, and automata/state machines
- Specific architectural methods and style knowledge (DDD, Hexagonal Architecture, ReST)
- Industrial experience with PostgreSQL and MongoDB
- Demonstrable Leadership/Mentorship abilities
- Infrastructural experience, or experience bringing software into operation
- Product orientation, the ability to not just pick the right tool for the job, but to build the right system for the business
