About the position

As a Backend Developer you will work alongside our team of talented and dynamic experts as they work to provide exceptional solutions to the many challenges our business and clients face. You will develop our core banking system and connect with external partners in a cloud first and event driven architecture.

• 2-5 years of professional experience
• Clear, professional communications (listening, oral and written communications)
• Strong problem-solving and analysis capabilities
• Demonstrated track record as a team player
• Manage time effectively to provide quality deliverables within the expected project timeline

Responsibilities

• Work using Agile methodologies such as Scrum to develop software
• Develop applications from the ground up using a modern technology stack
• Regular engagement with the product management team to identify and discuss solutions and features
• Should be well versed in unit tests and be able to produce comprehensive tests for all developed code
• Debug production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
• Promote software engineering best practices via code reviews, building tools and documentations

Skills

• Proficient with RESTful api design
• Experience or interest in event-driven programming
• Experience or interest in AWS and serverless technologies
• Working knowledge of relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL (NoSQL experience is an asset)
• Good knowledge of Go and/or JavaScript/TypeScript (and strong interest in both)
• Self-taught and autonomous
