We need enthusiastic Clojure/ClojureScript devs to help us build our new FinOps platform

Role overview

We are looking for developers who know Clojure, or are keen to learn it with us. You will be joining a small team of devs who work closely together in a highly collaborative environment.

We have a great open culture and a diverse team, helping to make Strategic Blue a supportive and fun place to work.

You will be responsible for:

Designing, building, and maintaining services written predominantly in Clojure
Creating modern front-ends in ClojureScript/Reagent/re-frame
Delivering new product features in direct collaboration with stakeholders
Learning the relevant technologies and systems in place, and becoming familiar with our product domains
Helping to solve technical problems, and highlight issues so that we can improve our services

We place great value on learning, with an excellent training budget, time for self-directed study, and a blame-free culture that promotes questioning. We encourage our devs to spend time understanding problems deeply.

Though we all work remotely, we occasionally gather in our London Waterloo office to get to know one another a little better. We try to maximise the benefit of this time together by focusing on interactive activities like collaborative design, mob programming, and retrospection. We also make sure there is time for socialising together.

Strategic Blue are cloud FinOps experts, helping our customers to reduce cloud spend using innovative commitment trading techniques. We are proud of our culture of openness and transparency with an emphasis on learning. We operate autonomous self-organised teams, and we value everyone’s ideas and opinions. We do a lot of pair programming to share knowledge and experience. We currently work fully remote, with occasional visits to our London office for collaborative work that helps us get to know each other better. We seek enthusiastic developers who either know or would like to learn Clojure. We currently have a diverse team of nine full-stack devs, but we have plenty of front-end and back-end work, so we can accommodate people who have a preference.
