• At least 4 years of professional open-source systems experience
• A bright mind (usually PhD, but some have no degree at all)
• Skills in Python, Bash, and ideally Linux SE
• Knowledge of Puppet would be a benefit
• Interest or experience in functional programming languages such as Scala, Lisp, and BSD
• Experience with version control systems like Git or Darcs

Additionally, familiarity with build/deployment technologies like Maven, CMake, and Rake is preferred. The ideal candidate would have knowledge in:

• Scala
• Ocaml
• f#
• Java
• Linux
• HPC
• HFT Systems
• Infrastructure Linux
• Troubleshooting virtualization technologies such as KVM and VirtualBox
• Networking protocols like BGP, OSPF, VRRP
• Experience with Cisco IOS, F5, and IPSEC
