  • To define & develop the strategy for the Community team in being the connective tissue for all our projects & participants, and ensure effective delivery across the entire team
  • Empower & enable all projects & participants across our ecosystem and ensure they are effectively supported and best set up to succeed
  • To champion the NEAR ecosystem across the entire Foundation, internally & externally, and ensure we are ecosystem focused in all that we do


Outcomes

What specific outcomes are we looking for this hire to achieve in their first 12-18 months? 5-8 specific and important goals that support the mission, ranked by order of importance; outcomes also influence what needs to report to them to be successful? Go deeper and also address the problem (s) this person will be solving.

  1. Define & implement a go-forward strategy & vision for the Community team and approach for NEARs ecosystem of communities
  2. Work collaboratively across the Foundation & ecosystem to grow the size & engagement levels of our social & community channels 
  3. Define ecosystem level KPIs, including a deep understanding of ecosystem health, and develop initiatives to support their performance / development
  4. Develop a suite of self-serve tools & resources to best support our community, reducing the need for 121 support
  5. Be the champion for all our ecosystem projects, both internally & externally, ensuring we all speak through the voice of our projects & participants
  6. Partner with the wider Foundation, especially the Product, Marketing, BD & Funding teams, to develop a strong feedback loop between the Foundation & the ecosystem
  7. Lead and inspire a team of 10 Community Leads & Moderators


Competencies

Flowing out from the mission and outcomes, competencies articulate how we expect this person to operate in achieving the goals.

  1. Strong experience of building and growing successful online communities, preferably web3 communities
  2. Proven track record in building and leading high performing teams
  3. Excellent communication skills
  4. Able to work with a complex network of technical and non-technical people as stakeholders
  5. Strong knowledge of blockchain technology, decentralized applications, and the ways in which communities and ecosystems form around them
  6. Experience in managing social media platforms preferred
